The event began at 12 noon in front of the Hard Rock Hotel, in Pattaya, with a welcome speech by Rotary member Dieter Reigber, addressing the various welfare organizations of members of the Rotary Club who were present. The race then began on the beach in front of the Hard Rock Café.
However, instead of swimming in the race, the children ran along the beach and jumped into the water at the finishing line. At the end of the race the children were each presented with a participation medal by Rotary club members.
After the swim the Rotary club generously treated the little athletes with a happy meal each at McDonalds, where everyone joined having lunch together.
It was a wonderful experience for the children to be included in the race and we thank the Rotary club for not only including us this special yearly event, but for their continued support of our work at the CPDC.
