A Very Special Christmas Present

After a few welcoming words, the children of the Pattaya Orphanage started singing for instance “Joy to the World”, “Jingle Bells” and “Oh come”.

Later on, the guests were treated with a sumptuous buffet and more music.

In the very moment when the first people thought about leaving after a joyful evening, the president of the Rotary Club of Eastern-Seaboard, Mr Russell Iffland, surprisingly announced that the Rotary Club of Eastern-Seaboard decided to honor three people for extraordinary efforts in favor of disadvantaged children in Thailand and its neighboring countries.

For this reason, Mr Martin Brands, the charter president of the Rotary Club of Eastern-Seaboard, held a speech revealing that the first person he was speaking about is our dear Khun Toy. He invited her to the stage where Mr Russel Iffland presented her with the Paul Harris Fellowship Recognition Award and 22,000 baht for the 22 years she has already worked for the Pattaya Orphanage and, in addition, for the six years she is already volunteering for the CPDC.

Arriving only for supporting the carol singers in the background, Khun Toy was completely caught by surprise and moved to tears by those hearty words about her efforts.

We are proud of our dear Khun Toy and truly thankful to the Rotary Club of Eastern-Seaboard for finding such warm words to describe Khun Toy and for the honor of awarding her a fellowship.
