US Marine Band electrifies Children and Visitors at CPDC

In spite of the occasionally rainy and stormy weather and the national elections taking place on the same day, we were most happy to welcome many good friends from Pattaya and the nearby communities to join the concert. The CPDC’s children got company from Pattaya’s slums areas and also several charity organizations, namely the Baan Jing Jai, Mercy Center, Pattaya Orphanage and School for the Deaf. The Father Ray Foundation’s School for the Blind was also among the guests.

Joining the concert, as well as a delicious variety of food and beverages was free of charge for everybody on this day, much to the appreciation of the children and visitors, who enjoyed the easy atmosphere, catching up with friends and getting an impression of the center and our work.

During the performance the children from all projects began to dance and sing along, some of them showing quite impressive break dancing skills. The band, an ensemble of drums, bass, keyboard, guitars, saxophone and multiple vocalists, clearly enjoyed playing for such an excited audience. And without a doubt the former street children from our center, the disabled children and children from slum areas altogether had an exceptionally great time.

On behalf of all attendees and especially the children under our care we want to give our most sincere thanks to the band for coming all the way from Japan to perform in Thailand for the good of helping unfortunate children. Our gratitude also goes towards the US Embassy in Bangkok for the great cooperation in arranging this big event.
